The police want me to give them permission to search my house, car, computer, camera, etc. Should I give it to them?

When it comes to the police asking to search your car, your house, your phone, your computer, the quick answer is no. Never give them consent to search. I’ve yet to have a client that has benefited from voluntarily cooperating with the police and giving them the information that they want. If the police are asking you to search those items they know what they want, and they have a suspicion as to what they want, and they typically find it. So my advice is to never give them consent to search, always make them get a warrant and follow the proper channels. That gives me an opportunity to prevent that from happening.
