When do the police have to read me my rights in Florida?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

When it comes to Miranda rights in the state of Florida, typically the law is after you’re arrested, if the cops ask you anything incriminating about your case, they have to read you your rights. And those typically are the right to remain silent, the right to have an attorney. So after you’re arrested, if they want to further their investigation, they are required to, to read you your rights. And my advice is always to invoke your rights and not cooperate any further once those rights are read to you.
